The Weary Angel
by Adela Rodix
About the author
Adela Rodix is an artist, thinker, writer. She exhibits her works of art in Europe and America, such as Galerie Maeght. In her artistic career she is also known as Adela, R.D. Adela and Adela R. Duflos. After many years in Barcelona, she now lives and works in Warsaw, Buenos Aires, Madrid and New York. She is also author of Light of Cultronia and The Weary Angel.
The Weary Angel by Adela Rodix presents a surreal and
speculative narrative, exploring themes of human
curiosity, the unknown, and the consequences of
scientific experimentation. Set against the backdrop of a
mysterious organization, the story intertwines two
characters: Mr. Ready, an enigmatic investigator, and
Miss A. Prenttis, who unwittingly becomes entangled in
a strange investigation about a scientist, Dr. Flint.
The title, The Weary Angel, metaphorically evokes the figure of Dr. Flint, who, like a fatigued angel,
becomes overburdened by his quest to control forces beyond human comprehension.
Both Mr. Ready and Miss Prenttis grapple with existential questions about their roles in the
unfolding events. The dialogues are filled with uncertainty, doubt, and speculation, mirroring the
overall feeling that the world they inhabit is far from stable or understandable.

ALTAIÓ: The arrow of time is circular, is spiral, is…
ADELA: Time is a place where we are shut in. It has a duration. The duration as such, is finite, and when you have the idea that there is something infinite, time is felt as a limit. The problem of time has always fascinated me.
